It’s that time of the year folks. I am bored with the old template (and most of you must be too) and we need some change (I am using the winner of a themes competition for WP). Over the next few weeks, I am going to tweak around to bring it back into good ol’ shape. I am hard pressed for time with two projects that I am working on having an August 1 deadline. And to add to all of it, PROCRASTINATION.

Anyhow, let me get back to work.

Things seem to be falling back into place again. Figured out a really mysterious problem at work. It was a problem involving the use of programs which have exactly opposite sign conventions (yeah, its not too bad until you realize that the program has only one base case and all other cases must be rotated, mirrored or a combination without screwing up the signs). Prepared a six page memo to be sent out to all the people working on it so that they can just see the cases and plug in the values without having to think about it each and every time.

Took off from work at noon to reach home because Adelphia had scheduled an apartment crew to come and fix my problem. It was fixed and turns out that someone was illegally using my splitter to connect their television. The cable (buried) was found cut and they could not trace who had done it since whoever did it knew what he was doing. Now that scares me since if it can happen once, bet it can happen any time again. I don’t want to be without TV for another week before they fix the problem.

With all that said, I was also glad to learn that everyone has one more second in their lives in 2005, thanks to mother earth slowing down her rotation. Are we (and our oriental friends) populating her so much that she is having problems in rotating about her own axis??

Just another day, except that I saw War of the worlds today. A very good movie that kept me interested all along. The ending was a bit of a let down but overall a very good movie. It was much unlike ID-4.

I dropped the plans of going to South Beach to see the fireworks. However, I saw quite a bit of it from my balcony.

But don’t know for how long. I really want to be writing something in here everyday, but sadly enough I don’t (rather not motivated to find) time to do it. It’s been like forever since I used my camera to take pictures of random things I see everyday. It’s like the shutterbug has left me forever. Partly it is because of the really long hours at work, and partly because I am not yet fully settled in here. There are little problems that creep in every now and then. For example, my new cable TV providers Adelphia really suck. My cable TV was installed on June 28th in the afternoon and it stopped showing stuff the same evening. Apparently, there are “theives” in Miami, who are stealing away their cable tv equipment. Wonder why ?? I have lodged complaints more than 4 times and no response yet. I suddenly feel like I am in India. To compound problems, Adelphia is the only option I have since my fcuking apartment does not have a South-West facing balcony to install a DISH. I never knew of this crap or else I would have never taken this apartment. Problems galore. I really wish I could come home someday and turn on the TV and it worked. It’s driving me crazy. Not being able to see anything except black and gray dots on my new TV. Weekends suck……..but I really long for it over the weekdays. This is life !!
